Another month has passed by and another month of songs playing in my head when I wake up. A continuation of my grand experiment to record every song I wake up with in my head each morning.
Well, I didn’t think it could be done, I have successfully recorded 365 366 songs that I woke up with playing through my head. Sunday I will have the deep dive into each and every month, but for now, let’s look at December!
As a side note, this and the final 365 Day Playlist post will be the last time you see Spotify on my Substack. Like most sane people, I can’t justify using that service any longer. I only started using it in 2022.
There’s a pretty good mix in the final month of this experiment, it has a little bit of everything, rock, rap, americana (of course), and even some fun deepish cuts for hardcore fans of certain artists.
When I do a deep dive, it will be interesting to see how much rap and hip hop made these playlists. It’s not a lot because I am pretty selective, but this month had back when Kanye was somewhat normal rapping with a wire in his jaw on “Through The Wire.”
Also on the list is “Neighborhood Bully” by Bob Dylan which is highly relevant these days as it was when he wrote an released it. All in all a pretty good mix for December. I will see you here Sunday with the whole enchilada, all 366 songs!
