Another month has passed by and another month of songs playing in my head when I wake up. A continuation of my grand experiment to record every song I wake up with in my head each morning.
Well, I am nearing the end of this grand experiment, and I cannot say thank you enough to those that have shared, liked, listened, and just joined me on this weird and somewhat unique quest. October’s brain-induced tracks created a pretty good playlist, here it is:
Lots of “classic” rock gems here this month and also a sublime cover of NRBQ’s “Ridin’ in My Car.” Zooey Deschanel’s voice fits the vibe of that song really well. Somehow Led Zeppelin made it on here twice in the space of a couple of days, but I suppose that’s how the brain works. Score some points for high school Chris as Alkaline Trio, The Academy Is…, and Avenged Sevenfold made an appearance.
In fact, “A Little Piece of Heaven” might be the closest to Halloween-themed track on this entire October list. This list is an excellent mix, though, and I hope at least one other person will enjoy listening to it as much as I did. Only two more months to go! As of today, the 365 Day Playlist is at 311—and thankfully I didn’t wake up this morning with a song by 311 in my head.
Let me know what you think! Stay tuned for tomorrow as Your Top 5 returns!
