It is definitely a grower--at first I wasn't into it, but it gets some regular plays now. Still need to pick it up on vinyl since I am a completist and have all other Orville Peck LPs on wax. Thanks for reading!
It's fun to see how much we cross over with what we've listened to and liked (Jack White, Johnny Blue Skies, Old 97s, etc.) as well as things that I've missed (Ty Segall, Bright Eyes, etc.). As for Ryan Adams, I still haven't gone back to his music, though I definitely miss it. Maybe I'll finally make peace with it in 2025. If so, I'll start with Star Sign since the 2014 self-titled got so many plays out of me.
Thanks, man. I read yours too and realized I completely missed the new American Aquarium--so thanks for that! We should get together and do a Your Top 5 in January. If you have a topic or artist you'd like to do, DM me!
I also enjoyed the Khruangbin - Hermanos Gutierrez parley.
i really like the way you broke the list down in tiers! and i felt similarly about the Gary Clark Jr. album. it was enjoyable, but didn’t rank for me.
Blak and Blu is still my all-time fav of his followed very closely by This Land.
I've had Hermanos Gutierrez on my list of bands to check out for a while. I'll give them a listen this week.
And that Jack White album is just so good. It's been in constant rotation since it came out. Can't wait to see him live next year.
Mega jealous right here, thanks for reading!
Really like that Orville Peck album!

Thanks for the invite - I will try to come up with a few ideas!
Yes. And the documentary shows how stripped down everything was. I think they even used pawn shop amps with little to no effect pedals.
