This was great fun to do! Love your list! I had considered both "Que Sera Sera" and "Things Have Changed." I had heard Doris Day's song for many years before seeing "The Man Who Knew Too Much" so it was odd for me hearing it in the context of that Hitchcock film. There's a great version of the song by Pink Martini that is also worth checking out. Also love that Bob Dylan song! I was thrilled when he won the Oscar for it.
Great selections! Evergreen and Take My Breath Away are such great tunes. But my favourite Academy Award winning song will always be When You Believe by Mariah and Whitney 😊
This was a lot of fun! Some great songs from both of you on here. I particularly liked Last Dance, the two Streisand songs, Streets of Philadelphia and Take My Breath Away. I’m not sure I’ve ever even heard of the film Crazy Heart, will have to look for that one.

Very well done.

It’s a pretty good film that not only tells a good redemption story, but really shows the chasm between new country and old country music.
A great piece; good comments from both of you.
Scanning the list of "best song" winners I was surprised to see that "Theme From Shaft" won, and it deserves some honorable mention . . .
For sure! There was nothing like that theme before it won!
